I had my first visit yesterday to the new facility on the 11th floor for an emergency filling (fabulous view of Adelaide!) I had an excellent experience with a Canadian student who was very thorough and thoughtful. His attention to detail was impeccable and I came away filled with hope for the public health system here in Adelaide. My wish is that the waiting period for ongoing dental care for the mass of our population who can not afford to go to a private dentist was much much shorter. I guess the question is why are our teeth not part of our overall health and well being? They certainly do impact on our physical and mental health when in great need of attention and as we age 2+ years is too long to wait before a general checkup.
